Tallinn invites everyone to welcome the New Year at Freedom Square, where the celebration will feature a concert with performances by ensemble LAINE, folk-infused beats of Trad.Attack!, rapper nublu and an innovative light show titled “New Beginning.” Due to the concert, there will be traffic closures in the area and rerouted public transport lines to accommodate the festivities.

From 7 am on Friday, September 24, one lane on Luise Street is closed due to the construction of the heating and water pipelines. Luise Street is completely closed on Friday evening from 7 pm to 11 pm on Sunday, September 26. One lane on Luise Street will be partially closed until the evening of Wednesday, September 29.

The Tallinn City Government has completed this year’s statistical yearbook "Tallinn in Figures" that offers an overview of the development of different areas of the city in the recent years. The population of Tallinn has grown for more than 20 years in a row, already reaching above 445,600.

Starting in August, nearly a hundred new road safety towns are established in Tallinn kindergarten to help small citizens learn how to safely participate in traffic and consider fellow road users.

During the Ironman triathlon and events connected to the competition, several streets will be closed, parking will be limited and there will be changes to public transport services and their timetables on 7-8 August.

On Monday, June 28, renovation works of the intra-quarter roads of the City Centre district will begin by order of Tallinn Environment and Public Utilities Department. In the course of the works, the asphalt pavement of the streets and sidewalks will be renewed, the dilapidated curbs will be replaced and the wellheads within the determined area will be repaired. Tree pruning and landscaping work are also performed.

The permanent residents and companies of Aegna Island will have the opportunity to collect mixed waste separately and hand it over to door-to-door waste carriers once a month. The waste transport of the island will be organized by the Tallinn Waste Centre from 1 May.

On Saturday, May 1, the ship Vesta will sail again between Tallinn and Aegna Island, leaving the Linnahall quay from Patarei Harbour.
