This May, Tallinn hosts its spring collection rounds for hazardous waste and reusable items during two weekends—May 11-12 and May 18-19.

As part of the Old City Harbour tramway construction, the urban space solution for Laikmaa Street is set to introduce a balanced mobility environment, more greenery, and convenient public transport infrastructure.

Following a successful pilot project in collaboration with electric scooter rental services Bolt and Tuul in central Tallinn last year, plans are underway to extend the designated parking areas for electric scooters to Kadriorg and Telliskivi this summer. The exact locations and number of parking spots will be finalized by May.

Tallinn continues to develop its trolleybus network, with the reconstruction of the trolleybus network infrastructure and the acquisition of 40 new battery-powered trolleybuses planned over the next five to six years. The city government instructed AS Tallinna Linnatransport to start preparations for the necessary procurement.

At the beginning of last year, Tallinn launched the Test in Tallinn programme, initiated by Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart, inviting companies to test new technologies in urban spaces and systems. The focus was on tests in urban mobility, renewable energy and energy saving. To date, a total of 37 test project applications have been received, of which 21 have been accepted.

The Tallinn Transport Department has expanded the parking areas for shared e-scooters, light mopeds and bicycles to Telliskivi and the Balti jaam area, as well as to the Kompassi, Raua and Kadriorg districts. In addition to the existing central city zones, 104 new parking spaces have been established.

From 2 September, paid public parking in Tallinn will be operated by OÜ EuroPark Estonia, replacing AS Ühisteenused. The change of service provider is technical and does not affect the principles or pricing of parking.

The Swedbank Tallinn Marathon and Tallinna Sügisjooks (Autumn Run) will take place on the weekend of 13–14 September, bringing tens of thousands of running enthusiasts to the districts of Põhja-Tallinn, Kesklinn, and Haabersti. As a result, there will be temporary changes to traffic and public transport.
