Tallinn continues to pursue for the title of European Green Capital in 2023, a total of 16 cities across Europe will apply for this year’s title.

At the extraordinary meeting, the Government approved the amendment to the 2021–2023 Employment Programme that, in accordance with the proposal of the Council of the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund, allows supporting the companies that have suffered the most from the restrictions. At the previous cabinet meeting, it was also decided to support the undertakings of the Ministry of Education and Research and of the Ministry of Culture.

Tallinn announced the traditional photo contest "A Year in Tallinn 2021", which is open for entries from February 15 until September 15.

Tallinn will be participating with entrepreneurs in the H22 City Expo city festival in Helsingborg from 30 May to 2 June, where six of Europe’s most innovative cities will showcase their solutions for sustainable development in the Urban Brilliance exhibition.

Tallinn City Government has approved the plan for the Rail Baltic Ülemiste passenger terminal and its surrounding area. According to the plan, Ülemiste will be transformed into a transport node linking different nodes of transport, which will significantly improve the quality of public transport.
