Tallinn, the European Capital of Sport 2025 offers many opportunities to participate in sports and to stay active. The city is full of places where you can exercise for free.

At the Tallinn Entrepreneurship Awards gala held at the Seaplane Harbour (Lennusadam) yesterday, the awards for the Best Development Project, Collaboration Project, Bright Newcomer, Tourism Achievement, Job Creator, Solution of the Future, and Eco-Innovation of the year were announced, alongside awards for the best applied research projects.

Starting from October 1, tram lines No. 1 and 3 will fully resume service. Additionally, construction work at the intersection of Põhja puiestee and Kursi Street will conclude, improving traffic flow in the city center.

Tallinn will convene a special commission composed of dendrology experts, with the goal of developing methods of combating diseases that have begun to affect elm trees in the city.

Tallinn Marathon will draw around 20,000 sports enthusiasts from over 70 countries to the districts of Põhja-Tallinn, Kesklinn, and Haabersti from 8 to 10 September. This will lead to temporary changes in Tallinn's traffic and public transport.

This summer, the city of Tallinn significantly reduced the mowing of green areas in order to contribute to the development of biodiversity and to reduce the heat island effect in urban space. However, in September-October, all green areas will be mowed, so that during autumn, cleaning up fallen tree leaves will be easier.

Tallinn invites residents to participate in a survey on the topic of light pollution to identify which sources of light disturbance affect city residents the most. Responses accepted until November 13, 2023.

All residents of Tallinn have until midnight on 30 November to take part in the selection of the best athlete and team in Tallinn 2022. Residents can vote for their favorites in the following categories: best female athlete, best male athlete, best sports team, best youth athlete and best para-athlete on the website www.tallinn.ee/et/aastasportlane2022.

The eighth edition of the Sports Morning last Friday brought nearly 600 amateur athletes to the capital's sports halls and winter swimming centers.

By 1 December, marker posts will be removed from most of Tallinn's cycle paths to ensure smooth snow clearance and the use of cycle paths in winter conditions.
