The City of Tallinn and Viimsi Municipality have signed a joint agreement to extend bus line no. 1, which currently runs to Viimsi center, all the way to Vimka mägi.

Starting this year, Tallinn is directing apartment association support funds towards activities that contribute to the sustainable renovation of apartment buildings and courtyards. The changes also simplify the application and processing of support grants. In total, the city will allocate over €2.4 million in support for apartment associations.

AS Tallinna Linnatransport (TLT) operated more than 600 public transport vehicles in 2024, covering nearly 36 million kilometers and serving approximately 130 million passengers. On average, there were 355,000 trips per day by buses, trams, and trolleybuses.

Companies providing electric scooter and bicycle rental services in Tallinn will start the new season on March 1 after a three-month winter break.

Tallinna Vesi will install a stormwater drainage system, Utilitas will upgrade the district heating network, and the city will widen sidewalks, implement traffic-calming measures, and reconstruct street lighting. The goal of these upgrades is to make Salme Street more accessible and safer, particularly for children and the elderly.

The Tallinn City Government has submitted a draft regulation to the City Council that would grant the city the right to set requirements for the use of rental e-scooters, mopeds, and bicycles in public space.

Tallinn is proposing changes to electric car parking regulations in the city center. Under the new plan, only electric car owners or responsible users registered as Tallinn residents in the Population Register would be eligible for free parking. The new rule, which requires approval by the City Council, is set to take effect on July 1, 2025.

To ensure environmentally friendly disposal of old Christmas trees, Tallinn has opened 83 collection points where residents can drop off their trees free of charge. Trees can also be taken to waste stations or have them picked up by the local waste management service.

On Saturday, January 11, the late President Arnold Rüütel, who passed away on December 31, will be laid to rest with a state funeral at the Estonia Theatre. Due to the funeral, temporary traffic restrictions and changes will be in effect in Tallinn on January 10 and 11. Police request drivers to follow traffic signs and instructions from officers.

Due to the celebration of the Republic of Estonia's 106th anniversary and the Estonian Defense Forces parade rehearsal at Vabaduse väljak, public transportation routes in Tallinn city centre will undergo changes on the evening of Friday, February 23, starting at 6:30 PM and on Saturday, February 24, from 8 AM to 5 PM.
