On 21-22 November, PÖFF will host its eleventh Music Meets Film (MMF) programme for film music creators and filmmakers, featuring acclaimed composer and pianist William Goldstein.

n 23 and 24 November, a delegation led by Kotka Mayor Esa Sirviö, the Chairman of the City Council Pasi Hirvonen and the Chairman of the City Board Sami Virtanen will visit the city of Kotka, Tallinn.The visit included a meeting of the mayors of Tallinn and Kotka today and a joint concert of the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and the Kymi Sinfonietta in the Estonia Concert Hall in the evening.

Tomorrow, 25 November at 6pm, the traditional Christmas market will open at Town Hall Square and the lights will be lit on Tallinn's central Christmas tree. The traditional first Advent candle will be lit on the tree in Town Hall Square by Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart and Tallinn's Provost Jaan Tammsalu this Sunday at 4pm.

Tomorrow, on 25 November, from 8am to 9am, three sports halls and three winter swimming centers will host a Sports Morning. All participants will be granted free entry.

Of the total operating expenditure in Tallinn's 2023 budget, social welfare and health will account for 10.9 percent, or €97.7 million. The main objective is to ensure the availability of needs-based social welfare services, the well-being of families with children, the elderly and people with special needs, and to assist citizens in difficulty. More consideration will be brought to mental health care.

Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart and minister Jaan Tammsalu will light the first Advent candle on Sunday, 27 November at 4pm on the Christmas tree in Town Hall Square.

In the Botanic Garden you can get acquainted with the (micro)world of plants, in Miiamilla you can learn fun facts in the "Fart Stories" workshops and in the City Museum you can meet bedbugs and dragons. We will be getting smart through games at the Kaja Cultural Centre and queens will be screaming at the Central Library.

Tallinn Day will be celebrated for the 21st time on Sunday 15 May, but the first events to mark the city's birthday will take place on Friday 13 May.

The traditional Tallinn Day dictation will take place this Friday, 13 May, starting at 12 noon on Town Hall Square. Everyone interested in the Estonian language, students and adults alike, is welcome to test their language skills.

From May, Tallinn's free Museum Sundays will be joined by The Estonian Museum of Contemporary Art in Põhja-Tallinn and the Gallery of Kaja Cultural Centre in Mustamäe.
