Projects aiming to add more greenery to the city and facilities promoting active lifestyles emerged as the winners in Tallinn's 2024 participatory budget vote. One million euros have been set aside in the budget for the realization of these projects.

Tallinn City Government has submitted the draft of the city's second supplementary budget for 2023 to the City Council, which specifies budgeted revenues, expenditures, investments, and financing transactions. The largest growth in expenses is planned in the fields of education and roads and streets.

This autumn, the City of Tallinn and the FinEst Centre for Smart Cities have launched a pilot project in which city buses and waste collection vehicles will begin detecting damaged or missing traffic signs. Smart sensors, or cameras, installed on the vehicles will transmit real-time information to the city about the condition of traffic signs.
