The City of Tallinn is supporting the organisation of the international women's tennis tournament WTA Tallinn Open this autumn with 400,000 euros.

The Tallinnovation innovation competition is organised jointly by the city of Tallinn and the Tehnopol Science and Business Park with the aim of finding smart city solutions that will improve the services and the environment of the city for residents and visitors. A record 100,000 euros is available for investment in smart city solutions this year.

The Tallinn Education Department has started informing parents about the designation of the school of residence for their children who will start school on 1 September 2022. The deadline for accepting the assigned school is 10 June.

Tallinn is creating a unique city centre engagement centre to facilitate the participation of citizens in the process of shaping the city.

The development project of the year, collaborative project of the year, start-up of the year, tourism deed of the year, job creator of the year, future solution and eco-innovation awards were announced at the Tallinn Business Awards gala held at the Song Festival Grounds on 30 September. Awards were also presented for the best applied research projects.

Tallinn aims to create a continuous, almost nine-kilometer-long park area on the limestone strip in Lasnamäe.

From today, 3 September to 1 October, all Tallinners will be able to submit proposals on which projects could be funded from the city's participatory budget in 2022.

From this autumn, Tallinn will start paying the one-time allowance 320 euros for children going to the first grade in one instalment. So far, the benefit has been paid in two parts. Parents can start applying for the benefit from 13 September.

As of this month, a new express bus line No. 64 is on route, riding from Väike-Õismäe to the Ülemiste City business campus through Mustamäe district.

The City Government adopted a package of support measures, which includes both crisis help for residents and benefits for economic operators from the beginning of September to the end of the year. The city will continue to compensate the first day of sick leave to residents of Tallinn. Also, rent exemption to entrepreneurs operating in the city's premises will be extended until the end of the year.
