Starting March 1, parents in Tallinn can submit applications for assigning a local school to children entering first grade at municipal schools on September 1, 2024.

The city plans to gradually reduce street clutter by removing outdated and unnecessary directional signs, focusing instead on keeping only essential public institution or destination markers, while signs pointing to business locations will be phased out.

Construction on the Old City Harbor tramway will continue on March 4, and construction at the Tondi railway crossing will begin on March 15. The continuation of construction work will lead to changes in traffic and public transport routes.

The City of Tallinn is planning the reconstruction of Ristiku and Härjapea streets to transform the existing street space into a modern, greener, and more inclusive urban area. A public presentation of the landscaping solution for Ristiku Street will take place on Thursday, February 29, at 5:30 p.m. at Pelgulinna Gümnaasium (Mulla 7).

Today, the Tallinn City Government approved the detailed plan for Soodi Street 6 in Haabersti, allowing for the construction of up to three apartment buildings with commercial spaces, with a maximum height of five floors. This planning is among the last steps in developing the residential area bordering Stroomi beach, for which the city plans to construct a new kindergarten to ensure local services.

Construction work on water and district heating pipelines is ongoing until the end of June in the Kristiine district, specifically along Käbliku and Koskla streets and the section of Sõpruse puiestee between them. Work on Käbliku Street began on May 6. From May 13 to June 3, the bus lane on Sõpruse puiestee heading towards the city centre will be closed, and Koskla Street will be partially closed (near buildings No. 16, 18, and 22).

On May 1 this year, Estonia marked 20 years as a member of both the European Union and NATO. In celebration, a concert titled "Our Europe. Our NATO" will take place on Europe Day, May 9, at Freedom Square in Tallinn, featuring artists such as Bedwetters, nublu, Gameboy Tetris, and Tommy Cash. The concert, running from 19:30 to 21:00, will also be broadcast on ETV and ETV+ channels.

The board of AS Tallinna Arendused approved the resignation request of the sole board member, Margus Jaanson, effective from May 11. From May 9 until the recruitment and commencement of a new board member, the council has temporarily appointed Joosep Vimm, a current board member, as the interim board member.

Tallinn plans to establish a bicycle path between Poska Street and Reidi tee to enhance mobility for pedestrians and cyclists and to develop the city's network of bike paths. The public introduction of the preliminary design for the Poska-Reidi bike path is scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, at 17:30 at the Mati Undi Museum, located at Koidula 17.

The Tallinn City Government has appointed the district governors for Haabersti and Mustamäe. Starting today, May 10, Anna Levandi will lead the Haabersti district, and Marja-Liisa Veiser will lead Mustamäe.
