A self-driving bus is offering free rides in the Kodulahe neighborhood, between Stroomi Beach and Paldiski maantee, from Monday to Friday until December 20.

Starting from November 1, buses will temporarily replace Tallinn's current trolleybus lines due to the outdated and deteriorating condition of both the trolleybuses and the infrastructure they rely on. The new trolleybuses are expected to serve residents in the first half of 2026.

In 2024, Tallinn made significant strides in public transport with strategic decisions such as a complete renewal of the trolleybus fleet with battery-powered trolleys and signing a 10-year contract with Tallinna Linnatransport AS to ensure the long-term stability and development of the city’s public transport system. This year also saw the completion of the second phase of the public transport network modernization and the redirection of tram line no. 2 through the Old City Harbour.

Utility work will be carried out on Uus Street to provide residents with better-quality heating. The city will also build curbless sidewalks to create a shared urban space that is friendly to all road users.

The City of Tallinn is offering residents free legal consultations on designated legal advice days scheduled across various districts. This year's final four sessions will take place in Põhja-Tallinn, Kesklinn, Mustamäe, and Haabersti.

Starting from September 1, Tallinn's public transport system will transition to its autumn-winter schedule. This change will affect the timetables of many bus routes and all trolleybus routes, while tram schedules will remain unchanged.

On Friday, August 30, the Kultuuriöö (Culture Night) event, "Ääretud silmapiirid (Boundless horizons)," will transform Tallinn's urban space into a vibrant center of cultural activities. In the evening, a special concert will take place at the Viru Keskus bus terminal, and passengers on night buses departing from the Balti Jaam station will be treated to literary readings.

The City of Tallinn is offering residents free legal consultations on designated legal advice days scheduled across various districts. Following a summer break, the next legal advice days will be held on September 5 from 1 pm to 6 pm in the Lasnamäe district administration, and on September 19 from 1 pm to 6 pm in the Kristiine district administration.

Münchhausen Productions OÜ will be conducting film shoots on September 9, 11, 16, 17, and 18 in the Kesklinn, Lasnamäe, and Nõmme districts. These shoots will cause temporary road closures for both vehicles and pedestrians. Traffic controllers will be present at all locations to assist local residents and other commuters.
