The Tallinn City Government has submitted a draft regulation to the City Council, proposing a reduction in municipal kindergarten fees starting from April 1, 2025.

From March 1 to March 15, parents in Tallinn can submit applications for their child to be assigned a municipal school based on their registered home address for first grade starting on September 1, 2025.

The Tallinn City Government has approved a set of principles for covering this autumn’s local elections, with the aim of ensuring political neutrality in the city’s communications during the election period. City district newspapers will not offer paid political advertising during the campaign period.

Tallinn parents have until 25 March to submit applications for assigning a municipal school to children starting first grade in the 2025/2026 academic year. Due to the next stage in pipeline construction works and the reconstruction of the Sõpruse puiestee and Tihase tänav intersection, Sõpruse puiestee will be partially closed to traffic within the construction zones from 22-28 August.

This year, the City of Tallinn will support the creation or development of 39 community gardens, 95 educational gardens, and 10 urban gardening projects, with a total budget of €343,880. These gardens and related projects help residents grow edible plants, learn to take care of the environment, and make the city greener and more biodiverse.

In 2025, the City of Tallinn will implement a dedicated development cooperation program for Ukrainian cities for the first time. The program includes both humanitarian aid and specific cooperation projects aimed at assisting Ukrainian municipalities in preparing for European Union membership and addressing key areas such as waste management.
