Tallinn has prepared a guide for the construction of bicycle parking spaces to provide an overview of the possibilities for creating bike parking facilities.

The Tallinn Property Department announced the first phase of a two-part public procurement this week, titled "Procurement and Installation of Generators for Independent Electricity Supply, Part I." This marks the initial step in creating resilience centers in Tallinn and developing backup power systems.

One of the priorities in Tallinn's 2024 budget is the development of a comfortable and safe urban space, which includes investments in transportation infrastructure and making streets more pedestrian-friendly. The city budget has allocated over 47.5 million euros for the reconstruction and major repairs of roads and streets. Key projects for the coming year include the reconstruction of Peterburi maantee and Lastekodu Street, the construction of pedestrian tunnels on Paldiski maantee, the reconstruction of the Kadaka viaduct, and the construction of the first phase of Pollinator Highway green corridor.

The focus of Tallinn's 2024 budget in the transportation sector is on renewing the fleet, developing and modernizing the network, and increasing the eco-friendliness of public transport. Tallinn residents will continue to have access to free public transportation, and night bus service will become a permanent feature. Additionally, the salaries of bus, tram, and trolleybus drivers will increase by 15% next year.

Tallinn plans several updates to its public transport network this year, aiming to create more convenient connections between different districts and offer better transfer options. These changes are expected to be implemented in the second half of the year.

Today at its session, the Tallinn City Government presented the Tallinn City Council with a detailed plan for the beach area in the Pirita district, aimed at developing and shaping this area into a flagship beach for the city.

At the end of last year, the results of the fourth round of the Test in Tallinn program, initiated by the city of Tallinn, revealed two new partner companies with which the city decided to proceed and hopes to reach the testing phase.

Today marked the reopening of the Tallinn Athletics Hall, following extensive renovations. The facility now boasts significantly improved conditions for both training and hosting competitions in various sports. In addition to athletics, the hall is equipped to host competitions in judo, wrestling, karate, fencing, shooting, weightlifting, and other sports.

Starting Monday, January 15, the route of bus line No. 35 will change in the city centre on Narva maantee and Pronksi Street.

During the Christmas period, Tallinn’s public transport will operate according to the Sunday timetable. On the evening of 31 December, traffic restrictions will be in place in the Freedom Square area due to the New Year’s concert and light show, and several bus routes will be diverted. After midnight, in the early hours of 1 January, the operating hours of a number of routes will be extended to ensure that people celebrating the New Year can return home safely by public transport.
