This November, Tallinn commenced the construction of its first circular economy center in the Kristiine district, with plans underway for another center on the property at Punane 68a in Lasnamäe.

On Monday, 8 May, the city of Tallinn will open a mending workshop (Sõpruse puiestee 255) in cooperation with MTÜ Uuskasutuskeskus and Tallinn Technical University, where city residents can bring both clothing and home textiles to be mended.

Tallinn is transforming its existing waste treatment plants into circular economy centers and constructing new ones to provide services that not only involve waste collection but also focus on waste prevention, reduction, and recycling. The first circular economy center, known as the Lilleküla Circular Economy Center, is slated for construction in the Kristiine district at Mustjõe Street 40.

The Tallinn City Government decided during today’s meeting that seven locations in Old Town will be leased out to Ringo Eco OÜ, a business specialising in green technology. The aim of this cooperation is to conduct a month-long pilot project to test the collection of reusable packaging in Old Town.

On Tuesday, 4 April, the second phase of the Vanasadam tram line construction work will begin and with that, Hobujaama Street and half of Laikmaa Street in the direction of Gonsiori Street will be closed. Narva mnt and the Hobujaama intersection will remain open. The construction work will cause changes to 27 bus line routes.

The Tallinn City Government sent the council a draft to continue with the European Space Agency’s business incubator programme 2024-2027 and to support new joining companies with up to €270,000.

Tallinn is set to continue its support for international conferences, a initiative started last year, with funding for 28 international conferences, several of which will take place in 2024. The budget for this support measure is 275,000 euros.

The first transnational meeting of the 'Cities After Dark' network within the URBACT program took place on November 13-15 in Braga, Portugal, bringing together experts and leaders from various cities to discuss innovative strategies related to the nightlife of cities.
