From Monday 13 June, 14 school stadiums and 4 sports fields will be open to the public in Tallinn, free of charge. At least one school stadium will be opened in each district.
Tallinn's successful school concert programme, a collaboration between UNESCO City of Music Tallinn and Eesti Kontsert, has come to an end this year, but will continue in 2023.
On the last day of the year, 31 December at 22:00, a grand free concert will start in Vabaduse Square. Estonia's best-loved artists Anne Veski, Karl-Erik Taukar Band and 5MIINUST will perform, and at midnight there will be a light show.
On New Year's Eve and New Year's Night, public transport vehicles normally stopping near Vabaduse Square will be diverted to detours and the operating hours of public transport lines serving the main routes of the city will be extended.
A book of condolences for the former mayor of Tallinn, Edgar Savisaar, has been opened in the service hall of the Tallinn City Chancellery on Vabaduse Square.
Today, 4 January, the cornerstone was laid for the Kadriorg Park Economic Building (L. Koidula 34a, Tallinn). A modern building inspired by the historical orangery is under construction, part of which will be open to visitors in the future.
On 10 March, the photo exhibition "I Choose Life", depicting Ukrainians who fled to Estonia from the war and their stories, will open on Vabaduse Square. It is a social and cultural project created by Ukrainian war refugee photographers.
Because of the annual public Defence Forces Parade, taking place on Vabaduse väljak, new traffic regulations will be put into force on Thursday 23 February, from 18:30 pm and Friday, 24 February from 8-17.
From 1 March, parents in Tallinn will be able to submit applications for the designation of schools of residence for children entering the first grade of municipal school in September 2023.
On Friday, 10 March at 4 pm, the photo exhibition "I choose life" will open on Freedom Square, depicting Ukrainians who fled to Estonia from the war and their stories. The exhibition will be open until 25 March.
