As part of the European Capital of Sport programme, an Ice Sports Day will take place on Saturday, March 22, starting at 10:00 at Tondiraba Ice Hall.

Tallinn’s year as the European Capital of Sport in 2025 brings a sports program offering residents the opportunity to explore various sports throughout the year. January is dedicated to skiing, and on January 18, the Song Festival Grounds will host a skiing day, followed by the festive opening of the sports year.

This summer, Tallinn's three harbors - Noblessner Marina, Old City Harbor cruise area, and Seaplane Harbor - will host the world's largest sailing training regatta, The Tall Ships Races, inviting businesses to offer a variety of foods and drinks, Estonian handicrafts, and all kinds of attractions for children. Registration is open until June 10.

The Tallinn City Government has appointed the district governors for Haabersti and Mustamäe. Starting today, May 10, Anna Levandi will lead the Haabersti district, and Marja-Liisa Veiser will lead Mustamäe.

Tallinn's ice rinks are soon closing for the current season - the ice rinks in Lasnamäe, Mustamäe, and Nõmme will remain open until the end of this week, March 17. The Old Town ice rink will stay open until the end of the month.

This year, Tallinn is set to host and support 95 high-level international sports events, including 16 European Championships and stages of world and European cup competitions. The city will provide a total of 645,000 euros in support for the organization of these international sporting events.

In Tallinn, the first 23 shelters were determined, the first of which – the car park under Freedom Square – was marked accordingly today. On November 22, the tenth annual Sports Morning will kick off, inviting residents to start their day actively. Free training sessions led by top athletes will be held at Sõle Sports Center, Tallinn Athletics Hall, and Tondiraba Ice Hall, with winter swimming opportunities available in Pirita and Nõmme.
