From today, after a temporary pause in the home doctor service during the summer months, it is once again possible to call a doctor to tend to a sick child in Tallinn over the weekend.

Tallinn families with two or more children who go to kindergarten can apply for a place fee exemption. The exemption can be awarded if a parent and their children have registered residency in Tallinn and a parent has made an application.

Tallinn plans to standardize the support procedure for childcare services, under which subsidies are paid to private kindergartens and daycare centers on a uniform basis. This will give parents the opportunity to choose between different services under similar conditions without having to apply for childcare service compensation every month.

The Tallinn City Government submitted a draft regulation to the City Council today, proposing to exempt parents of children attending municipal kindergartens from paying fees for three days during the support strike for education workers.

All students up to the age of 19 are eligible to receive financial support from the City of Tallinn in the beginning of the school year. To date, 46,603 applicants have already received the benefit, and a total of 4.4 million euros have been paid out. Applications can be submitted until November 30.
