Construction work on second phase of Vanasadama tram line to divert 27 bus lines
On Tuesday, 4 April, the second phase of the Vanasadam tram line construction work will begin and with that, Hobujaama Street and half of Laikmaa Street in the direction of Gonsiori Street will be closed. Narva mnt and the Hobujaama intersection will remain open. The construction work will cause changes to 27 bus line routes.
Kunderi Street closed to traffic from Monday
From Monday, 3 April to 28 April, Kunderi Street will be closed to traffic because of the total reconstruction work on Jõe-Pronksi streets.
Tallinn reaches agreement with OÜ BCA Center on school management contracts
As a result of the negotiations between the City of Tallinn and OÜ BCA Center, the terms of the management contracts of five schools will become more favourable for the city and the city will save nearly 17.6 million euros during the contract period.
Some one-way roads now also allow bicycle traffic in the opposite direction
Some one-way roads in Tallinn have had traffic signs installed that permit bicycle traffic in the opposite direction as well. More places like this will be created, as installation of signs on several streets began last week.
Next stage of Vanasadam tramway construction to affect tram traffic and cause traffic changes
From Monday, 3 July, the Narva mnt-Hobujaama-Laikmaa intersection will be closed as part of the next stage of the Vanasadam tramway construction. As such, tram lines 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be halted until the end of August. Viru terminal will be temporarily closed and public transport redirected.
Kursi Street and Põhja pst. intersections to be closed to traffic starting from Monday
Kursi Street and Põhja pst. intersections will be closed to traffic from 24 July to 30 September due to construction works on the Vanasadama tramway. The locations of the bus stops for bus lines 3, 66 and 73 will be relocated for the duration of the construction.
Pärnu maantee bike path design conditions now open for public review
The City of Tallinn is transforming Pärnu maantee into a European-style urban space from Vabaduse väljak to Kiisa Street. The materials for public review are available until October 15. A public presentation will take place on October 10.
New residential and commercial buildings planned for Paevälja district
The Tallinn City Government has approved a detailed plan that will allow for the construction of new residential and commercial properties in the Paevälja district of Lasnamäe, situated at the border of the city center, opposite the planned Tallinn Hospital on Narva maantee.
