The Tallinn City Government has adopted a regulation amending the procedure for issuing permits for vehicle access to the pedestrian area of Tallinn Old Town.
Due to the Tallinn Open Triathlon that will be held in the vicinity of Lake Harku, the section of Paldiski Road from the shore of Lake Harku (Paldiski Road 124a) up to the city limit will be closed on Sunday, 24 July from 9.30 am to 5.50 pm. At the same time, the trajectory of the bus lines 27, 36, 61 and 62 will change from 10 am to 6 pm.
In March this year, Tallinn launched a free Museum Sundays initiative at city-owned museums to raise awareness of museum activities and improve access to culture. In half a year, the initiative has attracted a large number of visitors, with a record 9180 museum-goers visiting the museums on Museum Day in August.
Every summer, Tallinn renews the road markings around educational institutions to make children's journeys to school or kindergarten safer and drivers more attentive to small pedestrians. This summer, 324 pedestrian crossings around schools and 413 around kindergartens were updated, and on 1 September, police and municipal police officers will also help to ensure safety.
From 12 September until 2 October, all Tallinn residents are invited to submit proposals about projects to be funded by the Tallinn participatory budget 2023.
Along with the upcoming reconstuction of Pikk tänav in the Old Town, the City of Tallinn is considering extending the car-free zone along the entire street. Feedback from residents is invited until 7 October.
The Tallinn Environment and Municipal Department is looking to rent land for snow storage during the upcoming winter season. Preference will be given to sites that are located in Tallinn, but as far away from residential areas as possible to minimize noise from snow storage.
On Friday, 25 November from 8-9 am, three sports halls and three winter swimming centers in Tallinn will be hosting a sports morning, where everyone can take part in free training sessions.
As of 14 November a new lane will be opened on Pronksi street between Narva highway and Gonsiori street. The lane on Pronksi street will be open in each direction between Gonsiori street and Tartu highway.
