This year, the City of Tallinn has revised the fundamental principles of its sports support system for children and young people. The reform aims to encourage participation in organised physical activity by increasing both the number of children eligible for support and the amount of support per child. Starting next year, the support will extend to 35,000 young Tallinn residents, with the total funding volume rising to €12 million.

From October onwards, Tallinn Zoo and Tallinn Botanical Garden will join the Museum Sundays programme. This pilot project will run until the end of 2025, after which its impact and visitor feedback will be assessed to decide on the next steps.

Today, 24 September, the Day of National Minorities in Estonia will be celebrated in Tallinn with a series of events introducing the cultures, tastes, and music of various nations as part of the Days of National Cultures programme.

Due to the Tallinn Open Triathlon that will be held in the vicinity of Lake Harku, the section of Paldiski Road from the shore of Lake Harku (Paldiski Road 124a) up to the city limit will be closed on Sunday, 24 July from 9.30 am to 5.50 pm. At the same time, the trajectory of the bus lines 27, 36, 61 and 62 will change from 10 am to 6 pm.

From today, 11 July, small and medium-sized live music clubs in Tallinn can apply for programming grant for the autumn winter season of 2022. All indoor concert venues that organise regular concerts and can accommodate up to 1,000 people are eligible to apply.

From 25 to 28 August, Tallinn Maritime Days will bring top-class artists, exciting family activities and a host of unique ships to four Tallinn ports: Old Passenger Harbour, Seaplane Harbour, Noblessner Marina and Haven Kakumäe Marina.

In March this year, Tallinn launched a free Museum Sundays initiative at city-owned museums to raise awareness of museum activities and improve access to culture. In half a year, the initiative has attracted a large number of visitors, with a record 9180 museum-goers visiting the museums on Museum Day in August.
