From Friday, 15 July until 14 September, passengers may travel free of charge in Mustamäe by self-driving shuttle on the inner district roads between Mustamäe tee, Tammsaare tee and Ehitajate tee.

The European Investment Bank has signed a €100 million loan agreement with the City of Tallinn for its multi-year investment programme in urban infrastructure. Tallinn’s priorities for investment under its sustainable urban renewal programme are expected to benefit the people living in Estonia’s capital as well as tourists. Projects to be funded with the EIB loan include public buildings, urban mobility and the upgrading of public spaces, green areas and municipal infrastructure.

In 2021, the Estonian startup ecosystem witnessed several significant moments. Wise became the first Estonian decacorn, investments into Estonian startups more than doubled compared to 2020 and the turnover of startups showed a very high growth rate. Our startups are getting more mature while offering jobs to more than 8100 people and paying 125M EUR in employment taxes in 2021. Tallinn and Tartu in cooperation with a delegation of Estonian IT businesses will host a business seminar on future city solutions in the Estonian Pavilion at Dubai EXPO on January 10. The seminar will be opened by Tallinn Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart.

City of Tallinn with Tehnopol Science Park invite businesses to submit ideas to the innovation competition Tallinnovation. Proposals for creating new smart city solutions or improving existing ones can be submitted until August 23.
