On Monday, 19 June, the youth-oriented summer of festivals will officially begin at Inglirand. Five youth festivals will be taking place throughout the summer.

Deputy Mayor Kaarel Oja visited Odessa, Tallinn’s partner city in Ukraine on 11-14 May and met with the mayor, members of the City Government and local cultural figures. The objective of the meetings was to reaffirm our sustained commitment to supporting Ukraine and Odessa during the ongoing war and deepen our cultural cooperation.

The Tallinn urban area has dozens of public fountains, where everyone can get free clean drinking water, something especially important in hot weather.

The city allocates a total of €400,000 of restoration grants to 54 applicants, the maximum grant amount being €30,000.

During the upcoming Victory Day and St John’s Day, people with health concerns can turn to the hospitals’ emergency departments as well as the Tallinn Dental Clinic, on-duty pharmacies and the general practitioner help line.

In regard to Victory Day and St John’s Day, on Friday 23 June and Saturday 24 June, Tallinn public transport will be operating per the Sunday timetable.

During the past school year, an environmental education programme had been carried out in Tallinn nurseries and schools encouraging children to reuse and recycle things and to develop the habit of sorting waste by type.

The government intends to redistribute the municipalities’ revenue base by planning changes in the tax system. Municipalities were given two working days to discuss and approve the new formula.
