Tallinn turns into a festive haven in December, bustling with a myriad of activities and sights - from the historic Old Town to its vibrant neighborhoods, Tallinn hosts an array of cultural and family-friendly events.

Haabersti district government organised the building of an outdoor swimming pool by the beach of Lake Harku. The pool will remain open until the end of the bathing season.

Tomorrow, April 15, the annual Urban Maintenance Month will be kicked off in Tallinn, which will be held for the 30th time. The motto of this year's campaign is "Responsibility for the Future" and the aim is to encourage people to think along on the issues of the circular economy and environmental education. During the Urban Maintenance Month, recycling of used items is made easy and hazardous waste can be disposed of free of charge.

Tallinn launched a campaign “Dust Kills”, which calls on drivers to prefer all-season tires in winter conditions and thus contribute to a cleaner living environment for themselves and their children.

In anticipation of Advent, Tallinn will be decorated with fairytale-like winter lights - Christmas decorations and various lighting solutions will be installed in the Old Town and all over the city. People are invited to visit the Christmas Market, enjoy ice skating in various ice rinks and take part in several events.

Today, 12 November, the Mayor of Tallinn Mihhail Kõlvart hosted the new President of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF, Luc Tardif, Vice-President Petr Brizat and Vice-President of the European Region Henrik Bach-Nielsen, to discuss the promotion of ice sports in Estonia.

On Tallinn Day, May 15, the traditional washing of the city streets will take place, which also marks the finish of this year’s Urban Maintenance Month. The street sweepers will start moving from Pirita road towards the city centre at 8 am.
