The Tallinn urban area has dozens of public fountains, where everyone can get free clean drinking water, something especially important in hot weather.

Tallinn will once again open Christmas tree collection points across the city this year, where residents can dispose of natural Christmas trees free of charge after the holidays. The opening times of the collection points vary by district – in some districts the points are already open, while in others they will open shortly.

During the past school year, an environmental education programme had been carried out in Tallinn nurseries and schools encouraging children to reuse and recycle things and to develop the habit of sorting waste by type.

Following the success of Tallinn's night bus pilot project this year, the city has announced that night buses will now operate year-round, including new routes to Nõmme and Viimsi. Adjustments to existing routes will also be implemented, enhancing accessibility for more passengers.

Tallinn's 2024 participatory budgeting vote continues for four more days, with the deadline for casting votes being midnight on Sunday, December 3. As of today, approximately 5,430 Tallinn residents have already voted for their favorite projects.

The Tallinn City Government has proposed to the City Council to lease, from December 4, Hiiu Stadium, Lasnamäe Stadium, Wismari Football Stadium, and Võidujooksu Football Field to the current managing football clubs for a ten-year period.

Since opening in mid-November, Tallinn's ice rinks have already welcomed over 20,000 visitors within three weeks. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the winter season at Tallinn's ice rinks – local schools can organize free skating sessions, and seniors have special times set aside for complimentary visits.

Tallinn's open-air ice rinks are set to open in mid-November. Mustamäe and Lasnamäe rinks will open on November 11, Nõmme and Old Town rinks on November 18. Schools can schedule free sessions on the rinks, and seniors are offered complimentary access.

Projects aiming to add more greenery to the city and facilities promoting active lifestyles emerged as the winners in Tallinn's 2024 participatory budget vote. One million euros have been set aside in the budget for the realization of these projects.

The City Government approved today a financing agreement between the City of Tallinn and Viimsi Municipality for the night bus line No. 95, enabling residents to use the service running between Balti jaam and Viimsi keskus during nighttime.
