The City of Tallinn is planning a major redesign of the Kristiine junction to improve mobility for everyone and prepare for the future tramline extension.
Through the Test in Tallinn programme, the city offers companies the opportunity to trial innovative solutions that support smart city development. In the September application round, the evaluation committee selected eight new projects for testing from a record 29 applications.
The City of Tallinn has announced the 2025 City Council Scholarship (Raestipendium) competition. The purpose of the scholarship is to support and recognise master’s and doctoral students whose research addresses Tallinn’s development and offers practical solutions for the city. Applications can be submitted from 1–15 October.
Until Thursday, 16 October, all voters can cast their vote at any of the 16 citywide polling stations across Tallinn, regardless of their place of residence. Starting from Friday, voting will only be possible in the voter’s home electoral district.
Starting on 20 October, Tallinn offers children and young people a wide choice of school holiday camps and activities — from creative workshops and technology labs to sports, theatre, and outdoor adventures.
Starting from 1 October 2025, the structure of the Tallinn Strategic Management Centre’s Business Services Department will be reformed. The existing Business Centre and Consumer Protection Division will be replaced by two new units: the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Department of International Economic Partnerships.
On 25–26 September, the international festival Cities After Dark will take place in Tallinn, bringing together the local community as well as experts and urban developers from across Europe to discuss the challenges and opportunities of nightlife and the night-time economy.
The Tallinn Transport Department is improving traffic management at the intersection of Reidi tee and Jõe Street to increase the junction’s capacity, particularly for traffic heading towards Ahtri Street. The work includes adjustments to road markings and lane layouts to ensure smoother traffic flow and reduce congestion.
