Tallinn public transport during Christmas and New Year
During the Christmas period, Tallinn’s public transport will operate according to the Sunday timetable. On the evening of 31 December, traffic restrictions will be in place in the Freedom Square area due to the New Year’s concert and light show, and several bus routes will be diverted. After midnight, in the early hours of 1 January, the operating hours of a number of routes will be extended to ensure that people celebrating the New Year can return home safely by public transport.
Construction to temporarily impact traffic on Pärnu maantee
From the evening of October 20 to the morning of October 26, construction work on a heat pipe is taking place in the Hallivanamehe bus stop area on Pärnu maantee in Tallinn's city center, causing temporary traffic disruptions.
Public transportation schedule during Christmas and New Year's Eve
Tallinn's public transportation will follow a Sunday schedule during the Christmas period. On New Year's Eve, December 31, due to a concert at Freedom Square, traffic will be closed in the area, and bus and trolley lines passing through will be rerouted. After midnight on January 1, several lines will operate extended services to ensure partygoers can return home via public transport.
Construction work on second phase of Vanasadama tram line to divert 27 bus lines
On Tuesday, 4 April, the second phase of the Vanasadam tram line construction work will begin and with that, Hobujaama Street and half of Laikmaa Street in the direction of Gonsiori Street will be closed. Narva mnt and the Hobujaama intersection will remain open. The construction work will cause changes to 27 bus line routes.
Five tram lines operating in October
The temporary tram line No. 6, introduced during the construction of the Old City Harbour tram line, will continue to operate on the Tondi-Kopli route until at least the end of October. Starting on October 1, the rest of the tram traffic will be fully restored. The City is also exploring the option of permanently continuing with tram line No. 6
Freedom Square and Tõnismäe bus stops temporarily closed during construction works
Due to construction works, the Tõnismäe stop on Kaarli puiestee and the Freedom Square blue-coloured bus stop in the centre of Tallinn will be temporarily closed.
Tram line 5 to resume service in November
Tram line 5 will resume service in Tallinn on November 1, operating along the Kopli-Vana-Lõuna route for the first time since 2004. Temporary tram line number 6, which was established due to the construction work in the city center, will continue to operate until October 31.
