Deputy Mayor Kaarel Oja visited Odessa, Tallinn’s partner city in Ukraine on 11-14 May and met with the mayor, members of the City Government and local cultural figures. The objective of the meetings was to reaffirm our sustained commitment to supporting Ukraine and Odessa during the ongoing war and deepen our cultural cooperation.
Mayor Peeter Raudsepp to proclaim Christmas Peace on Christmas Eve
On Christmas Eve, 24 December at noon, the Mayor of Tallinn, Peeter Raudsepp, will proclaim the Christmas Peace by reading the historic Christmas Peace message to the citizens from the window of the Town Hall, in keeping with tradition.
Tallinn public transport during Christmas and New Year
During the Christmas period, Tallinn’s public transport will operate according to the Sunday timetable. On the evening of 31 December, traffic restrictions will be in place in the Freedom Square area due to the New Year’s concert and light show, and several bus routes will be diverted. After midnight, in the early hours of 1 January, the operating hours of a number of routes will be extended to ensure that people celebrating the New Year can return home safely by public transport.
The Mayor of Tallinn is Peeter Raudsepp
At its session on 8 December, the Tallinn City Council elected Peeter Raudsepp as Mayor and approved the new City Government.
