Tallinn's open-air ice rinks are set to open in mid-November. Mustamäe and Lasnamäe rinks will open on November 11, Nõmme and Old Town rinks on November 18. Schools can schedule free sessions on the rinks, and seniors are offered complimentary access.

Since opening in mid-November, Tallinn's ice rinks have already welcomed over 20,000 visitors within three weeks. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the winter season at Tallinn's ice rinks – local schools can organize free skating sessions, and seniors have special times set aside for complimentary visits.

Young athletes from Tallinn have once again been given the opportunity to apply to the Tallinn Sports School competitive athlete programme. For the first time, applications are also open to deaf and para-athletes. Applications for the next two seasons can be submitted until 19 June 2023.

This year, in the last round of non-profit sports grants, Tallinn will allocate just over 31,000 euros to 31 local sports projects.

The Tallinn Culture and Sports Department is organizing an idea contest for the development of properties at Rannamõisa tee 1 and Rannamõisa tee 3g, aiming to diversify and improve the overall environment and facilities for sports in Tallinn. The winning concept from this contest will form the basis for subsequent detailed planning and negotiations for a building rights competition.

All residents are invited to participate in the voting for Tallinn's best athlete and team of the year 2023.

In 2021, a rooftop construction examination was conducted on 56 buildings in Tallinn to assess energy-saving possibilities. It was discovered that 28 buildings in the city can support solar power plants.

This weekend, Sõle Sports Center and Tondiraba Ice Rink will be opened as vaccination centers for Tallinners aged 65+. Vaccinations can be registered at the digital registry from 31 March and by telephone from 1 April.
