Through the Test in Tallinn programme, the city offers companies the opportunity to trial innovative solutions that support smart city development. In the September application round, the evaluation committee selected eight new projects for testing from a record 29 applications.

The Swedbank Tallinn Marathon and Tallinna Sügisjooks (Autumn Run) will take place on the weekend of 13–14 September, bringing tens of thousands of running enthusiasts to the districts of Põhja-Tallinn, Kesklinn, and Haabersti. As a result, there will be temporary changes to traffic and public transport.

From August 1, Tallinn Ambulance has relaunched the bicycle brigade in Tallinn Old Town and City Centre.

On the Estonian Victory Day, June 23, the Royal Air Force Aerobatic team Red Arrows will display a spectacular airshow over Tallinn Bay. On the morning of the same day, the Red Arrows will fly over the Victory Day parade in Paide, in which the soldiers of the eFP NATO battlegroup will also take part. The equipment of the battlegroup can be seen up close on Victory Day in both Paide and Tallinn.

Until the beginning of December, a new public transport vehicle with two bellows will be tested on Tallinn trolleybus lines, which can run as a trolley in the city centre, but can also disconnect its poles from the overhead wires if necessary and run on battery power like an electric bus.

The testing of self-driving buses and piloting of teleoperation driving will continue in Tallinn this summer. The City Council agreed to Tallinn's participation in an international project introducing self-driving buses operated by people from a control room who will not sit in the vehicle.
