For the upcoming year, Tallinn's budget allocates nearly 396 million euros for educational operations, representing almost 41% of the total operating costs. The primary focuses include the transition to Estonian-language education, increased investment, and raising the minimum wage for teachers.

The City of Tallinn, as part of its 2020-2030 education strategy, aims to modernize the entire network of schools and kindergartens by 2030. This year, the city is investing over 38 million euros in the renovation of kindergartens.

Tallinn will continue to compensate families for the increase in kindergarten fees in the new year - parents will receive a subsidy or compensation if the child and at least one parent are continuously resident in Tallinn from 31 December 2022 onwards.

Today, 4 January, the cornerstone was laid for the Kadriorg Park Economic Building (L. Koidula 34a, Tallinn). A modern building inspired by the historical orangery is under construction, part of which will be open to visitors in the future.

Yesterday, 22 February, the cornerstone was laid for an extension to the Käo Support Centre Children's Centre, which will house a spacious multipurpose hall for special children.

Today, the new modern building of Maasikas Kindergarten (Vasara 18) was officially opened. The new facility accommodates 240 children in 12 groups, with a total project cost exceeding €9.4 million.
