The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) has released its 2024 global rankings for cities and countries in the conference industry. Tallinn has climbed to 57th place among cities worldwide, while Estonia ranks 44th among countries.

From 12 to 16 May, 32 guided running sessions took place in Tallinn, the European Capital of Sport, attracting nearly 700 movement enthusiasts.

Tallinn City and Viimsi Parish, together with the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) Tallinn Centre, are participating in a project involving partners from 12 countries to make school meals healthier and more environmentally friendly for children in Europe.

Tallinn has shown progress in the Global Destination Sustainability Index (GDS-Index) 2023 analysis, a program renowned as the most reliable benchmarking and improvement tool in tourism sustainability. Since joining the program in 2021, Tallinn has consistently improved its performance. Today, it surpasses the average scores of cities in North America, Eastern and Western Europe, and also ranks higher than any other city in Eastern Europe in individual assessments.

Last year, Tallinn recorded 2.95 million international visits, over half of which were multi-day visits. The number of overnight stays in accommodation establishments reached 1.18 million guests, with the average length of stay increasing.

Tourism in Tallinn grew by 7% last year, reaching 3.18 million international visits. Overnight stays in the city’s accommodation establishments totaled 3.31 million, marking the highest figure on record. More visitors are choosing to stay longer in Tallinn—nearly 60% of foreign guests opted to stay overnight. Among the top markets, the largest relative growth in overnight stays was seen in Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Asian markets.
