Prototron, a facility that supports the implementation of smart ideas, has opened its first call for proposals this year. Last year, Prototron donated a total of 170,000 euros to ideas that would make people’s daily lives better and more comfortable, bringing the total amount of grants under the facility to more than 1 million euros. Applications can be submitted within one month – until 25 March.
A challenging year 2020 has put Estonians and Latvians invented – more than 500 ideas were submitted to Prototron. On 29th of January 2021, the winners of the Autumn 2020 round were announced – a record 120,000 euros were shared between 8 teams. So far Prototron has helped 86 technological solutions bought to market and invested more than one million euros in the implementation of smart ideas.

Estonia will be represented in the global competition Creative Business Cup by SUTU, a company that has developed a material made from reeds that can be used to produce bank cards, for example. The competition will take place on 4-5 June in Copenhagen, Denmark, and will bring together around 80 countries who have chosen a creative and innovative start-up to represent them.
Our good partner Prototron has launched a new round for finding future changing ideas and to support them. During the last 10 years, Prototron hasfunded 95 clever ideas with 1,22 million euros. These teams have raised more than 62 million euros since they finished Prototron. The success rate of the teams who have done Prototron’s program is about 90% - this Experimental Factory is working!
