The construction of Utilitas’ wastewater and seawater heat pump plant and seawater pumping station to be built in Paljassaare began today. The emission-free plant will start supplying heat to Tallinn’s district heating network in the winter season of 2026.

The 18th Tallinn Entrepreneurship Day took place on Tuesday 28 September and included more than 40 events dedicated to participants ranging from brand new entrepreneurs to senior executives. In total, 2000 people attended the seminars in person and online. This year’s Tallinn Entrepreneurship Day was a hybrid event – selected seminars were streamed online, but the main programme took place in person. The city of Tallinn and Utilitas OÜ will enter into a partnership agreement with the aim of creating the joint venture AS Utilitas Tallinna Soojus for district heating, 33.34% being owned by the city and 66.66% by Utilitas. The new joint venture will be a holding company leading investments in the Tallinn region, while AS Utilitas Tallinn will continue to sell heat.

Today, 9 June, KUU and Nikita Atikin’s architects presented rough plans for the new building of Tallinn Hobby Centre Kullo. Although primarily meant for children and young people, the building will also become a modern community centre, adding value to the entire area.

The city of Tallinn and OÜ Utilitas have received a merger permit from the competition authority for the formation of district heating company AS Utilitas Tallinna Soojus and have signed contracts for the transfer of shares. From February 26 to March 3, the school break offers children in Tallinn both athletic and creative winter camps and events.

On Wednesday, May 15, and Saturday, May 18, both residents and visitors are invited to participate in the festivities of Tallinn Day, celebrating 776 years since Tallinn was granted city rights under Lübeck Law. The events kick off with a meeting between the Prime Minister and the Mayor at the Short Leg Gate, followed by the Mayor opening the doors of Tallinn Town Hall accompanied by the Tallinn Police Orchestra at 12:00.
